I don't know about you but I used to really struggle with knowing when my cervical discharge was the 'ovulatory kind'. I mean...I knew what it was supposed to look and feel like but I always felt like I was guessing.

And if your anything like I was, your probably over feeling confused and overwhelmed about every little thing in your fertility journey.

You want a win and I get that, so I want to help clear up the cervical discharge confusion with 2 helpful tips.

1) You should notice that your discharge changes throughout your cycle. That's good, we want change. If your discharge stays the same throughout the month, then that may be a sign you didn't ovulate. Look for your discharge to go from dry --> creamy (like a blotch of lotion) --> wet and slippery (you should notice its much easier to wipe with tissue, its like your sliding)

2) Don't rely on just tracking your discharge, use at least 2 methods of tracking. This will help take away a lot of the guess work. Bottom line, if you see your discharge change, good. Then go ahead confirm it with another method like BBT or LH strips.

Like my client Stephanie who had such a hard time understanding her discharge. I told her to start monitoring her basal body temperature everyday, and use that as a confirmation. After she started doing this, she was much more confident about knowing how her ovulatory discharge felt like because her suspicions were always confirmed by the BBT.

Remember, your body is unique and your ovulatory discharge may not look like what you see in google pictures but with a little bit of extra help. you can learn to recognize the signs that are unique to you.
