Optimizing male fertility

Infertility is not just a female issue. Men play a huge role.

In fact 20-40% of the time, its due to a male issue.

So when my patients come to me and say "I've tried everything", my follow up is always, 'but has your partner?'

See, just like it takes 3 months for our eggs to mature and ovulate, it takes 3 months for sperm to mature and be released in ejaculation.

The problem is that sperm are very prone to damage.

When sperm are damaged, they don't swim as good, look as good, and often are not as genetically stable.

That means that they will have a hard time fertilizing any eggs produced.

So what can men do to improve their fertility?

Here are 3 tips to consider...

1) Ideally start improving sperm health 3 months before trying to get pregnant. Remember, it takes 3 months for sperm to mature and release, so we can use that time to really optimize sperm quality.

2)Avoid saunas, hot tubs, heated seats, and anything hot down there. That's because heat can significantly impact sperm quality and quantity.

3) Fill up on anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidants can help clean up any damage and improve sperm health. You can do this by getting more anti-oxidants in your diet and by using supplements.

The reality is that sperm health can be improved!
